Rabbi Eliyahu Rachamim Zini, head and founder of Or Vishua, is descended from a long line of Rabbanim reaching almost 1,000 years into the past.

Over the past twenty six years, Rav Zini has been serving as the Technion Rabbi.

A graduate of the University of Paris and the Techion, Rabbi Zini is a doctor of mathmatics and is part of the Technion mathematics faculty since the 70?s. Rabbi Zini teaches all Technion courses on Jewish thought and gives many lectures at the Technion Beit Midrash.

The Rabbi views the founding of the State of Israel as a return of the ?Kingdom of Israel? (as stated by the Rambam in his Commandments of Kings) and as the start of Israel?s redemption. The Rabbi therefore celebrates independence day and Jerusalem day with particular emphasis at the Technion and at the Yeshiva.

Rabbi Zini is a highly esteemed researcher of the Halacha and the Talmud and has published many books and articles on the subjects. The Yeshiva also publishes original Jewish texts and translations of such well-known Jewish thinkers as Benamozegh and Levinas.

The unique study method at the Yeshiva, as taught by the Rabbi and by the experienced teaching staff, is aimed at endowing students with depth of knowledge and wide horizons, along with love of the Torah, the land and the State, and endows students with an ability to construct their spiritual essence with sensitivity and depth, as well as intellectual vigor.

Rabbi Zini maintains a constant dialogue with all Jews everywhere, and is deeply aware of the varied needs and plurality of opinions within the Jewish people.
Young Jewish high school students from France visit the Yeshiva in early December. The students heard lectures in their own language, met their Israeli peers and enjoyed a sumptuous lunch.
